On the corner of 39th and Jackson in Kansas City,
stands an old nightclub called, Blues Alley. Old and worn, this nightclub has been the home to blues legends
and has seen the birth of some of these legends in the making.
Big John Amaro has spent many hours playing and singing at Blues Alley. So it seemed appropriate,
back in 1986, for the patrons and musicians of the club to call Big John's band "The 39th Street Blues Band."
